About
Hello, I am currently a graduate student at the University of Wisconsin and a web development student at devCodeCamp. I will soon be working at the University of Alabama as a GEOINT Analyst for the Global Water Security Center.
Student
I am wrapping up my Master of Science degree at Wisconsin for GIS Development. I have studied a variety of subjects ranging from cartography to mobile map programming. During my studies I have interned at NASA through their DEVELOP Program. I am also concurrently completing a certificate in Web Development from DevCode Camp.
Veteran
I served six years in the United States Air Force as a geospatial-intelligence analyst. I told the AF to give me any job they wanted and I really lucked out. I spent most my enlistment as an intelligence reports editor and U-2 mission planner in California, and as an imagery analyst at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA).
Teacher
And last, but certainly not least, teaching! I went to Japan with the intention of reconnecting with my roots and culture (I am Japanese and was born in Tokyo, but adopted by Americans) - using teaching as a way to get there. As it turns out, I quite enjoyed it. I taught Japanese junior high and elementary students English, primarily at my old sister school in southern Chiba prefecture.
